Introduction to media representations

Wednesday 8th June 2022 LO: To explore the concept of representation and stereotypes.  Media offers the audience an interpretation of the world  a stereotype is a generalised representation of a person, place or thing  they are limited and often offensive or used for comedy  nanny- old female nurse - young female who works in a hospital  teenager - loud noisy and rude  astronaut - middle aged man  football player - a young famous rich man who is athletic and fast  opera fan - very old people who are rich  teacher - smart male or female  tattoo lover - smokes and is middle aged stereotypes- are they reinforced or challenged?  reinforced - the year 9 girls are being represented by being loud, noisy and disruptive one of the teachers are being represented as an entertainer and he is stressed and also he is energetic it also represents new teachers as to being teased easily                  ...

Wednesday 4th may 2022   LO: Explore the use of Adobe Illustrator to create a magazine masthead . The main image is always a character from the game that the magazine is about  . The typology is bold and usually black or white  . The front cover usually includes the name of the game that the magazine is about  .  Wednesday 27th April 2022 LO: To identify the features on a magazine front cover; to explore genre codes and conversations  masthead: the title of the magazine  dateline: the date it was made and the serial number  main image: what it says the magazine is about usually in the middle  cover lines: this tells you what is inside the magazine  main cover line: this is the main thing inside the magazine  bar code/price: this tells you how much the magazine is and a bar code so you can pay for it  tagline/strapline: this is like a slogan  pull quote: this is a quote from the paper to attract more people to view your magazine

News day evaluation

 Wednesday 27th April 2022 Lo: to evaluate and review our news day project 1) on news day I said the report to the camera and also i wrote the report  2)i enjoyed making the report the most because it is interesting finding out what is happening in the world  3) i least enjoyed being on camera because i don't like being on camera  4) i learned how to write a proper report 5) i learned that there is lots of people to work on the report  6)if i were to do it again i would look at the camera more because i realised that i was looking at the auto que a lot
