To identify the features on a magazine front cover; to explore genre codes and conversations 


masthead: the title of the magazine 

dateline: the date it was made and the serial number 

main image: what it says the magazine is about usually in the middle 

cover lines: this tells you what is inside the magazine 

main cover line: this is the main thing inside the magazine 

bar code/price: this tells you how much the magazine is and a bar code so you can pay for it 

tagline/strapline: this is like a slogan 

pull quote: this is a quote from the paper to attract more people to view your magazine

Media Language Anslysis

 Wednesday 6th October 2021  lo: To analyse a media text using media language.  They have chosen a medium long shot so the people looking at the film cover can easily see his facial expressions and the reason that the film makers didn't choose a mid or close up shot is so that the person looking at the film can see the gun in his hand and the holster. clothing: shows that he is not wearing his suit and maybe wants to blend in he also looks like a hitman  props:  he is holding a gun which connotates violence so there is probably violence in the film  facial expression : his facial expression is showing that he is focused and serious or looking for someone. background: the background is hard, metallic plain colours and the colours are gold and blue which indicates wealth. diegetic sounds: 1) car engine: This would suggest that it could be a car chase which also means that it could be an action film. 2) helicopter engine:  This could mean that they might be looking for someone or they

Wednesday 4th may 2022   LO: Explore the use of Adobe Illustrator to create a magazine masthead . The main image is always a character from the game that the magazine is about  . The typology is bold and usually black or white  . The front cover usually includes the name of the game that the magazine is about  .
